Dr. Rhonda Perry Rivers

Expert Clinical Psychologist

I have over 30 years of experience helping adults in both individual and group settings. My passion is assisting people with healing from their hurts, learning from and overcoming their past, and finding a life with meaning, purpose and joy. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see my clients find freedom from the worries that burden them and prevent them from finding peace. If you are on that journey, then you have come to the right place.

My Education

It's my goal to create a comfortable, safe environment, where we'll work to achieve the goal together

I specialize in working with individuals who are the “worried well”—those individuals who are operating well for the most part in their lives, but still struggle with anxiety, worry, low self-esteem and confidence. Using a mixture of cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal and supportive therapies, my goal is to help clients identify their false narratives that are driving unhealthy choices and beliefs, assist them with making conscious choices, and develop strategies for change.

Additionally, one of the unique factors that I bring to my work is an ability to assist clients whose religious faith is instrumental in many of their life choices. I have found that combining evidenced based treatment along with the knowledge that comes from spiritual and religious faith is an approach that works for many of my clients.

I started my career in University Counseling Centers and served as the Director of the Counseling Center at Kennesaw State University before leaving in 2009 to start my private practice. I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago in 1996, my M.S. degree in Counseling from Georgia State University in 1985 and my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1983.
